Nose Gear Collapse & Engine Major Overhaul
As I went to taxi off the runway after landing at Flagler County airport, the main “H” bracket pin on the nose gear failed and it collapsed. I later found out the pin had failed on other airplanes and was supposed to have been replaced with stronger aircraft grade bolts which, they never were. Besides doing the repairs, I had County Line Aviation do a major overhaul of the engine and replaced the damaged propeller with a 3 bladed composite one. It took almost 5 months to complete the repairs.
