The Puerto Rico Flyers
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
- Leonardo da Vinci
From September 26 to October 20, 2018 we flew our airplane (Blanquita) from St. Augustine,
FL to Las Vegas, NV and back. We saw a show in Las Vegas, flew over the Grand Canyon,
attended the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta while visiting friends and
family along the way. The weather wasn't perfect the entire time. We diverted almost
40 miles to avoid thunderstorms on a flight between Alabama and Texas. We spent an
extra day in El Paso, TX while the remnants of Hurricane Rosa passed over Arizona.
We left Albuquerque, NM a day early since a severe cold front was headed there. We
flew in heavy cloud cover the entire flight from Texas to Louisiana, but overall
it was a great trip.
